Does an Endless Pool work ?    YES!   The only complaint we at Pool installers ever heard from customers is that they cant get the kids, grandchildren, neighbours or friends...   out of their Endless Pool.

How does an Endless Pool work?

The Endless Pool propulsion unit can move a huge amount of water -- up to 5,000 gallons a minute -- through two grills that straighten and smooth the water's flow. The result is a river-like current that is infinitely adjustable in speed from a gentle flow to a racer's pace by simply turning a knob. At top speed this would be the equivalent of swimming a mile in less than 20 minutes.

The swim current is generated by a 16'' propeller inside a protective stainless steel housing that is driven by a hydraulic motor.

The swim current is remarkably smooth because of an ingenious return system using the pool's underwater perimeter benches. As the water flows down the centre of the pool, it enters a grill in the rear bench. and then the side benches act as return channels that loop the water from the back to the front of the pool.  This is what gives an endless pool the broad smooth current of water.

Better and Safer
The Endless Pool swim current is superior to those produced by "jetted swim spas". Which pump only a few hundred gallons of water a minute through high-pressure nozzles. Their currents are turbulent and very narrow, even when three or more jets are used.  In a jetted spa, only a small amount of water is moving and the current speed is greatly diminished by the time it reaches the other side. In fact, the flow is so low that there is no need for a return channel system in a swim spa. A common comment from customers who have tried swim spas before is that they found they were pushed to the side by turbulence caused by the jetted systems and that they found that their feet were not in a flowing current , both making swimming or exercise difficult in a swim spa.  

The unique, patented system engineered by Endless Pools produces an ideal, broad, deep, non-turbulent swim current.  It is remarkably free of waves and bubbles, making it ideal for swimming, exercising and physical therapy.

Aside from the obvious advantages for serious swimmers or triathletes , Pool Installers experience with customers has shown us that the broad smooth flow of water is ideal for all forms of aquatic exercise We have installed Endless Pools for numerous customers who use the pool for general fitness and rehab and for relieving the symptoms of arthritis and MS.  In our opinion only the fully variable current flow and the smooth , flat, broad current of water makes this safely possible.
